Seed Card

Nene Collective is a digital and print design studio obsessed with the traditions of making surrounding publishing and the liberal arts.

An experiment in serendipity, the Seed Card emerged via a late summer design jam with my partner in Neneco Vanessa Spiral, in the midst of a season of intense transdisciplinary engagement across design and the humanities. Our brief recalls:

“Nene Collective’s calling card for present and future friends and family. Two lines of a nursery rhyme recalled from childhood were recycled in the form of an urgent inquiry. Global futures are intimately tied to the question of ability; design must now make a quantum leap on the individual level. Seeding is not exclusively a matter of maximalizing and harnessing impact: the cards, printed in batches, were sent in the mail, left in the world, in streets, schools and foliage. Instead of the biggest sight lines, we looked for the strongest flânerie– powerful gazes and encounters, propitious days and times of day, bold but graceful play with the surrounding architecture."
